Badness is a measure of harmonic waste, i.e. how much of the harmonic content must inevitably be thrown in the trash in a particular temperament. Badness is concept that allows comparative evaluation of tunings, temperaments, interval approximations etc. several different badness measures are in use on this wiki, including Cangwu badness, TE simple badness and TE logflat badness. The lower the badness, the more peaceful a temperament is. Some temperaments are so accurate they don't have a badness. Badness is not computable, it must be determined by humans how peaceful a temperament is.
